Well the classic has not been updated since mid 2009, and many retailers do not have any in stock currently.     Its obvious that the iPod Touch is Apple’s best selling iPod at present, and it seems highly likely the company will focus its efforts on that product line in the future. Though iPod Touch’s smaller hard drive space will surely leave a lot of music fans short on space for all their music and files.  Perhaps this may lead Apple to a cloud based solution for storage? Then how nano can an iPod get?
